SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio- Frostburg State Women's Soccer fell by a single goal to Notre Dame (Ohio) on Sunday afternoon, putting their claim on the MEC North Division title on hold.
Â
The Falcons wasted no time getting on the board, as a Bobcat defensive mix-up allowed Louisa Follert to roll the ball into an empty net for a 1-0 lead. It took over a half hour for FSU to register their first shot on target, as senior Audra Curtin and sophomore Lela Clark both shot straight at Falcon keeper Jordan Pasalaqua a minute apart.
Â
In the second half, some great passing down the right side created a chance for sophomore Toni Fiocco-Mizer, but her effort was straight at Pasalaqua as well. Follert would force sophomore Ashley Bilger into a few saves to keep FSU in reach, but the Bobcats were unable to find the equalizer, giving the Falcons the 1-0 win.
Â
With the loss, Frostburg falls to 10-3-1 on the year, while Notre Dame improves to 4-6-3. Frostburg returns to the field Wednesday, October 27 as they are back at Bobcat Stadium to take on Alderson Broaddus at 6:30 p.m. For information and updates stay tuned at frostburgsports.com.
