WEST LIBERTY, W. Va. – The Frostburg State men's basketball team lost on the road Saturday evening to national ranked #4 West Liberty 134-72. Junior Agyei Edwards led the Bobcats with 18 points and five rebounds.
 
The Bobcats are now 1-2 on the season while the Hilltoppers improve to 4-0.
 
Sophomore Jaylon Johnson scored the first basket of the contest with a layup on Frostburg's first possession. The Bobcats were held scoreless for the next four minutes until junior Jamil Jones hit a jumper to make it 19-4. A three-pointer from senior Desmond Rene with seconds left in the first half brought the score to 79-36 with the Hilltoppers on top going into halftime.
 
Edwards opened the second half scoring with a three-pointer. At 17:59, Edwards hit a jumper to make the score 86-41. A layup from Edwards at 15:37 started an 8-0 scoring run for the Bobcats which included two jumpers from senior Jihar Williams.
 
A jumper from Johnson with 3:30 left to play made the score 127-66. First-year Jaylin Albury scored a layup followed by a jumper from junior Juston Bailey with 1:38 left to make it 131-70. Sophomore Marellus Carroll finished the scoring with a jumper with a minute in the game. West Liberty captured the win 134-72.
 
Jones finished the evening with ten points and six rebounds for the Bobcats. Rene earned 11 points while Johnson put up eight points with five rebounds and three assists.
