YORK, Pa. - Frostburg State smacked a combined six home runs as it posted a split in a CAC doubleheader at York (Pa.), Saturday.

Frostburg (11-8, 1-7) picked up its first league win of the season after taking game one 9-3. York (12-4, 6-2) rallied in the nightcap with six runs over the final two innings for an 11-5 win.

Senior Nick Fuhrmann, junior Ryan Roell and sophomore Josh Clegg combined to hit 13-for-23 with five RBI, four HRs and eight runs.

Game one
Â
Fuhrmann smacked a two-run home run in the second inning for a quick 2-0 lead. Junior Ryan Roell led off the inning with a double before Furhmann's bomb.

Fuhrmann led off the fourth with a single and, four batters later, scored when sophomore Tre D'Amico singled to center.

The Bobcats blew the game wide open in the fifth with five runs. Junior Mitch Fyffe led off the frame with a single and scored on a deep homer to right field by senior Jason Paredes. The next batter Roell smacked a homer down the left field line for a 6-1 advantage.

Frostburg's final run of the fifth came on a junior Quin Ambeault singled up the middle that plated Fuhrmann.

The Bobcats added two runs in the bottom of the seventh. Ambeault and sophomore Jared Mouton both received walks to open the frame and both later crossed home plate when junior Devin Griffith singled to center.

FSU starter Colby Lee had it on cruise control for much of the afternoon. He got into trouble in the top of the fifth, but surrendered just one run and worked his way out of bases loaded jam. He fanned nine in 6.1 innings of work, while allowing just one earned run on three hits. He improved to 3-1 on the season.

Bobcat senior Chase Delost tossed the final three innings and allowed just two hits and two unearned runs.Â

Fuhrmann and Roell each finished with three hits, while Fuhrmann added two RBI and three runs.

 Game Two
In the nightcap, York plated single runs in the second, third and fourth innings for a 3-0 edge.
Frostburg rallied by cutting the deficit to 3-1 in the home half of the fourth. Fuhrmann doubled to right center and then scored when Mouton doubled down the left field line.

In the fifth, sophomore Brett Fogle smacked a solo home run to left center that fur the narrowed the score to 3-2. The Bobcats tied the game in the sixth when sophomore Josh Clegg connected on a pitch and sent it deep over the left field fence. Fyffe singled home Clegg for a 4-3 FSU lead.

The Bobcats scored their final run in the seventh when Roell crushed a pitch over the left field fence for his eighth home run of the season.

York rallied and took the lead for good when Grant Oberholtzer hit a three-run homer of his own in the eighth to highlight eight Spartan runs over the final two innings.

Bobcat reliever Mike Livingston was saddled with the loss after allowing seven runs, six earned in 4.0 innings, while striking out four.

Fuhrmann finished the second game 3-for-4 with a run scored, while Clegg was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
