Frostburg Women Conclude Season At Fairmont State

FAIRMONT, W.Va. - The Frostburg State women's soccer team finished the 2019 season at Fairmont State, losing 1-0 on Saturday evening. The Bobcats finish the season with a 6-11-1 overall record and 6-9 Mountain East Conference record while the Falcons advance to 12-4-2 overall and 11-2-2 in the MEC.
 
Senior Brooke Shehade booted a team-high two shots, one of which being on goal. Senior Gwen Schemm registered one shot on goal while sophomore Audra Curtin had one shot in the game. Senior goalkeeper Emily Faust ended the match with four saves on ten shots faced.
 
Frostburg's first shot on goal from Shehade came at 38:37 which was turned away by Falcon goalkeeper Taylor Kennedy. Shehade took a shot three minutes into the second half that was denied by the crossbar.  
 
Both teams continued to battle back and forth until Fairmont State was awarded a corner kick late in the second half which the hosts were able to turn into the games' first and only goal at 82:44. A shot attempt from Curtin was denied three minutes later and sealed the win for the Falcons.
