ELKINS, W. Va. – The Frostburg State women's volleyball team fell to the Davis & Elkins Senators on the road in a four set matchup with a final score of 3-1, Friday evening.
The Bobcats fall to 10-14 overall and 2-10 in conference play while the Senators have moved to 16-7 overall with a 9-3 record in conference.
The first set opened with back and forth play as the Bobcats received an early kill from first-year

Altemus posted kills to keep it close early as Frostburg trailed by a point, 4-3. As play continued the Bobcats went on to score three more points on errors committed by D&E bringing the score to 7-5 in favor of the Bobcats. Five-straight kills kept the Bobcats in the lead 10-9. The Senators rallied for a 21-18 lead and they sealed the first set with three more kills to bring the score to 25-19.

Godlove opened the second set with a service ace for the Bobcats and a kill from
Altemus brought FSU within two at 7-5. D&E responded with a 10-0 scoring spurt for a 17-6 lead. FSU made a strong push late in the set with two aces from Lainez and a kill from Altemus, but the hosts posted a 25-18 win.
Frostburg won the third set, 25-21, after an offensive outburst. Frostburg recorded 10 kills with three service aces and one block.
Lainez kicked off the scoring for the Bobcats as she dished out a kill to give the Bobcats the early lead. Five more points from kills, service aces and attack errors allowed Frostburg to keep the game close after the Senators pulled out in front with a score of 8-7.

Biamba Tshitenge eventually sealed the set win for the Bobcats at 25-21.
The final set recorded much of the same story from the first set with back and forth play. The Bobcats jumped out to a lead with a dominating 9-4 run behind four kills from Altemus.
The Senators made their comeback and collected five kills and two service aces to push them back in front 12-9. After more back and forth play, the Senators scored 12 unanswered points to give them the 25-13 win of the set. The Bobcats recorded eight kills with two blocks during the final game.
Frostburg collected 34 kills on the night with 97 digs and seven service aces.
Godlove and
Altemus led the Bobcats with nine kills.
Lainez led the team with 19 assists and three service aces while
Tshitenge led with five blocks on the night. Senior Cori Smothers led the team with 28 digs.
