Shehade and Curtin Secure All-MEC Honors

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Senior forward Brooke Shehade and sophomore forward Audra Curtin earned postseason honors as the Mountain East Conference (MEC) released its 2019 all-conference teams Tuesday morning. Shehade was named to the All-MEC First Team while Curtin was tabbed to the All-MEC Honorable Mention category by the conference coaches.

Shehade secured her third all-conference first-team nomination and first as a player in the Mountain East Conference. Her senior year was her best, finishing in the top three in every offensive category. She finishes her FSU career ranked eighth in assists (21), ninth in points tallied (89), and tenth in goals scored (34).

Curtin made a name for herself early in the season, scoring goals in five of the first seven games. Her stellar start carried over into Mountain East Conference play, finishing second on the squad in every offensive category and finishing sixth in the conference in assists (5), goals (9), and points (23).

Shehade had four games with multiple goals, including a career-day against Urbana where she recorded a hat trick, two assists, and took 14 shots, the third most in FSU single-game history. She also provided four game winning goals, highlighted by an overtime-game winner at home against West Liberty.

Curtin had back-to-back games scoring two goals against Urbana and Wheeling. Against the latter, she added two assists in FSU's victory over the Cardinals.

As a team, the Bobcats finished fifth in the MEC North Division in their first season as a Division II member.
