Bobcat Men Endure Home CAC Defeat

FROSTBURG, Md. – Penn State Harrisburg stretched a 16-2 run over both halves en route to a 98-73 win over Frostburg, Wednesday.
 
The Lions (10-6, 2-3) used an 11-2 run to end the first half with a 53-34 lead at intermission and the visitors scored the first five points of the second half as they led by 24, 58-34, just 1:19 into action.
 
Late in the second half, PSH led by as many as 31, 96-65, before winning by 25. Harrisburg also helped its cause by shooting 56.3 percent from the field (40-of-71), while outrebounding FSU 50-36.
 
Two players scored in double figures for the host Bobcats. Junior Daniel Alexander scored a game-high 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting with three three-pointers and he led FSU in scoring for the ninth time this season. First-year Nicholas Johnson came off the bench to score a career-high 15 points.
 
The lead changed hands three times throughout the night and three changes occurred in the opening half.
 
Alexander and senior Edwin Cole connected on jumpers in the early going for three-point leads for Frostburg, while just past the midway point, sophomore Sean Patterson hit a layup for a 21-20 advantage.
 
Johnson hit a foul shot with 2:41 left in the first just before PSH closed the half on an 11-2 run.
 
Four starters and five total players scored in double figures for the Lions as Kahlil Williams and Chris Bing each poured in a double-double. Williams finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Bing added 12 points and 10 rebounds.
 
The Bobcats return to action this Saturday at Salisbury at 3:00 pm.
