BALTIMORE, Md. The Frostburg State Bobcats headed east to Baltimore to take on Johns Hopkins, and the Bobcats fell to the Blue Jays by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday.

Going into the game, the Blue Jays were ranked 13
th in the country by the United Soccer Coaches Poll.

With the result the Bobcats fall to a 1-2 record, and Johns Hopkins moves to 2-0 on the season.

The Bobcats' best chance to score in the first half came when junior Randy Putnam fired a shot high of the crossbar. Through forty-five minutes, Frostburg State went into the half tied at 0-0 for the third straight game.

The Bobcats jockeyed for possession with the Blue Jays for the majority of the second half. Late in the second half, Johns Hopkins had a run down the sideline and penetrated the Bobcats backline. Sophomore forward Pablo Martinez sent a cross in the front of the goal which ricocheted off a Frostburg defender into the back of the net in the 86
th minute. Later in the same minute, Martinez struck the ball from outside the box to put John Hopkins up 2-0.

The Bobcats ended the game with six shots as a team with two shots on goal. First-year keeper Joel Assal finished the game with three saves. First-year midfielder Trevor Namie had three shots, one of which being on goal.

While Johns Hopkins fired twenty shots on the evening, the Bobcat defense limited the Blue Jays to only five shots on goal.

Frostburg State will head to Fayetteville, N.C. to play in the Methodist Tournament. Men's Soccer will play Pfeiffer on Saturday, September 8
th at 5:00 p.m.
