FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State softball team has earned the No. 4 seed in the 2018 Capital Athletic Conference Softball Tournament and will travel to top-seeded Christopher Newport on Friday for the first round of action.
Frostburg enters the tournament with a 20-14 overall record and a 7-7 mark in the conference.
No. 1 Christopher Newport and No. 2 Salisbury will each host a pair of three-team double-elimination pods on April 27th and 28th.
Friday, CNU will open action against No. 6 Penn State Harrisburg at 12:00 p.m.
The second matchup features the Bobcats versus Penn State Harrisburg at 2:00 p.m. followed by the final game of the day as Frostburg takes on Christopher Newport at 4:00 p.m.
The winners of each of the pods will advance to a best-of-three championship series May 4th and 5th at the field of the highest remaining seed.
This spring marks the eighth-straight appearance in the CAC Tournament for the Bobcats. They have not missed the tournament since joining the league in the 2010-11 academic year.
