Frostburg Md. - The Frostburg State men's soccer team defeated York College by a score of 1-0 on the road to capture their third conference win of the season.
Senior defender Brett Basham scored his second goal of the season off of a cross from sophomore Punya Suleekul.
The lone goal of the game came in the first ten minutes of action. The Bobcats drew up a corner set piece that led to a flick from junior defender Blake Geatz which found Basham's head.
York outshot FSU twelve to six, but Frostburg State made the most of their opportunities. The Bobcats first year goalkeeper Joel Assal recorded five saves on the afternoon. Both teams had opportunities in the final third throughout the game with four corner kicks apiece.
The win moves the Bobcats to 6-8-2, 3-2-1 in the CAC leapfrogging York College in conference standings.Â
Frostburg State takes on another CAC opponent in Penn State-Harrisburg next Wednesday in Middletown, Pa. at 3:00 p.m.
