FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg field hockey team lost its home opener, 2-1, in a hard-fought overtime battle to Randolph-Macon on Friday night. Freshman Gabby Rachuba found the back of the goal in the 19
th minute on an assist from senior Ivy Meissner for the Bobcats lone score.

Randolph-Macon had 13 shots while the Bobcats only totaled five, with four coming in the first half.
In the 23
rd minute Randolph-Macon's Victoria Cappadora found the back of the net to break the tie, on a goal that just squeezed by senior goalkeeper Nicole Leighty.
Leighty had two saves in the 34
th minute by deflecting the ball and kicking it away just before half keeping the game 1-1. She denied Elizabeth Jacobs at 33:44 and stopped a shot from Claire Macgill at the 33:55 mark. Leighty finished the game with six saves.
Frostburg State, although they did not count, had two shots off penalty corners that found the net but were waived off due to infractions.
Junior Molly Pickard led the Bobcats with two shots.
The last chance for Frostburg came in the 69
th minute with a penalty corner but could not produce anything from it as it was knocked away by the Yellow Jackets.
A goal by Randolph-Macon's Jessica Cooke that was flipped just above the reach of Leighty ended the game in the 74
th minute.
The Bobcats are back in action on Sunday as they host Ohio Wesleyan at 2:00 p.m.
