Women’s Lacrosse Cruises To CAC Win

DOVER, Del. – The junior tandem of Megan and Molly Hart scored seven of Frostburg's goals as the Bobcats cruised to a 16-2 win over Wesley in CAC action, Saturday.
 
Megan Hart scored four goals and Molly added three more as the Bobcats improved to 5-7 overall and 1-5 in the conference.
 
Junior Courtney Ridenour contributed a goal and an assist as a total of nine FSU players registered at least a point.
 
Megan and Molly Hart scored the game's first two goals less than a minute into action for a quick 2-0 cushion for the Bobcats.
 
Wesley answered with its only goal of the opening stanza 1:12 into the first half before Frostburg rattled off 11-consecutive goals for a 13-1 lead at intermission.
 
Megan (28:05) and Molly (27:37) Hart started the 11-0 run with the first two goals. They each added one more before the end of the half and junior Emani Byrd contributed two goals before intermission. Ridenour, sophomore Samantha Cataldo, freshman Morgan Cavey, junior Haley Hines and junior Alyssa Barlow also added first-half goals.
 
Cavey opened the second stanza with a free-position goal at 26:20 and Megan Hart scored her fourth at 18:51 as Frostburg's lead ballooned to 14 at 15-1.
 
Wesley scored its final goal with 6:49 to play before Frostburg closed the scoring when Barlow found junior Taylor Mone for a goal with 3:45 showing.
 
Frostburg connected on almost 50 percent of its shots by scoring 16 goals on 33 attempts. The Bobcats also posted 14 draw controls, picked up 17 ground balls and caused 14 turnovers. It's the second 16-goal game this season for FSU.
 
Junior keeper Dylan Tietelbaum and freshman Abigail McClure each played a half and each registered three saves.
 
Frostburg returns to action on Wednesday when it visits Southern Virginia at 5:00 pm.
