NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Sophomore Carvell Akuffo tied the game in the 85
th minute, but Frostburg State ultimately fell in double overtime to top-seeded Christopher Newport in the semifinals of the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Tournament on Tuesday evening.

The loss ends the season for the fifth-seeded Bobcats, who finish with an overall record of 9-10-1. The CAC Tournament appearance was Frostburg's second in three seasons.
Senior keeper Hassan Mostafa made ten saves on the night.
Both teams were stout on the defensive end for the majority of the match, as neither team allowed a goal through nearly 79 minutes of play.
Christopher Newport broke the scoreless tie in the 78
th minute on a goal from Patrick Burns, which put the Captains up 1-0.
Akuffo, who was recently named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week, converted on the game-tying goal in the 85
th minute with an assist from senior Nabyee Tesfu. Tesfu one-touched the ball back to Akuffo, and he drilled it into the lower left side of the net.
Frostburg made several key plays on the defensive end throughout the evening, including one from freshman Mitchell Love in overtime, where he deflected a header from CNU's Steven Durbin off its line to keep the game tied at one.
Frostburg would eventually surrender the game-winning goal on a diving shot by Durbin that snuck past the outstretched arms of Mostafa. The goal came just 3:39 before penalty kicks would determine the winner.
Christopher Newport will advance to the CAC Championship game and face Mary Washington on Saturday, November 5.
