FROSTBURG, Md. – In its last game of the season, the Frostburg State field hockey team dropped, 7-0, to Capital Athletic Conference opponent York (Pa.), Wednesday afternoon.
York (12-5, 4-2 CAC) tallied six of its seven goals in the first half before adding one more in the second. The Spartans opened the game with a goal in the eighth minute from Ali Posey. Posey went on to lead York in scoring with three goals.
FSU (5-13, 0-6) had its first chance to get on the board in the 37
th minute of play when junior Elizabeth Davis had a shot on goal that Spartan defender Autumn Farner managed to save.
Just a minute later, Frostburg had its second shot of the game from sophomore Lindsay Gardiner; however, the shot was blocked.
York held a 19-2 advantage over the Bobcats in shots and a 19-4 advantage in penalty corners.
Senior Jacqueline Gover made eight saves for the Bobcats in 70:00 minutes of action.
