SALISBURY, Md. – Frostburg State surrendered two second half goals and endured a 3-0 shutout loss at CAC rival Salisbury on Saturday.
Kendrick Michel scored SU's first goal in the 24
th minute and again in the 82
nd minute for a 3-0 lead. In between, Nick Carrington scored an early second-half goal for a 2-0 cushion.
The Bobcats settle at 6-8-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the CAC with the loss. Senior keeper Hassan Mostafa finished with three saves. He made one at 10:34 in the first half off a shot from Dolph Hegewisch. He later stopped a shot from Brooks Zentgraf at 57:47.
SU keeper Robert Fiackos made three saves as well, including two in the second half.
Senior Jonathan Lippitt had a shot denied in the 78
th minute and freshman Mitchell Love had an attempt turned away at 87:47.
The victory pushed the Sea Gulls to 6-6-1 overall on the season and 3-3 in the CAC.
Freshman Josh McRobie and Matt Morris each took two shots, while Salisbury outshot the Bobcats 16-9.
FSU returns to the field on Wednesday at Penn State Harrisburg at 2:30 pm.
