BALTIMORE, Md. – Despite trailing just 2-1 at halftime, the Frostburg State women's soccer team fell to fifth-ranked Johns Hopkins, 6-1, Sunday afternoon.
Freshman Haley Dalphon (38:02) found the back of the net following a pass in the middle of the box from senior Brooke Longo to score the Bobcats' only tally with seven minutes left in the first half.
The Blue Jays' held a 2-0 advantage with goals at the 27:36 mark and at 36:33 before Dalphon punched one home for Frostburg 1:29 later.
Johns Hopkins held a 9-2 shot advantage heading into the half and came out to fire four more goals past the Bobcat defense and hold on for the final 6-1 victory.
Senior goalkeeper Paige Gray and freshman Rhianna Lapen split time between the pipes and combined for eight saves.
Ana Bengoechea and Bailey Monaco paced the Blue Jays with a goal and an assist each.
