SALISBURY, Md. – The Frostburg State field hockey team dropped a 5-0 contest to #7 Salisbury to end its regular season, Friday afternoon.
The Bobcats (8-10, 1-5) played tough against the nationally ranked Sea Gulls (12-3, 5-1) but in the end the Salisbury offense proved too much to handle.
The Sea Gull offense took 41 shots against the Bobcats during the duration of the game; however the Bobcats showed an impressive fight, holding Salisbury to only two goals in the first half.
The FSU defensive efforts were capped by a notable performance by sophomore goalkeeper Nicole Leighty who made 19 total saves on the afternoon.
Sophomore Elizabeth Davis also made a defensive save for the Bobcats in the 50
th minute of the game.
The Bobcat offense was led by senior Alexandra Darrow who made two shots on goal and freshman Erin Barker who contributed one.
Five Salisbury players found the goal for the Sea Gulls, Abbey Shobe, Sam Johnson, Hannah Miller, Natalie Wilkinson and Emily Lemanski each contributed a point.
