YORK, Pa. – An early second-half goal slipped past the Frostburg State men's soccer defense as the Bobcats fell 1-0 in Capital Athletic Conference action at York (Pa.), Tuesday afternoon.
In just its second conference loss of the season, Frostburg (8-4-1, 2-2-1 CAC) posted 12 shots to York's 16. The Spartans (6-6-2, 3-1-1 CAC) also held a slight advantage in corner kicks (4-3).
Freshman Kelvin Tata and sophomore Rodrigo Valenzuela each posted three shots for the Bobcats, but none could find the back of the net for the visitors.
York's Greg Bechard notched the game's only goal at the 63:18 mark off a pass from Ryan Ockford to give the hosts a 1-0 advantage.
Junior goalkeeper Hassan Mostafa finished the game with three saves in net, while his counterpart Charlie Johnson had two.
The Bobcats return to action Saturday, October 17 when they play host to St. Mary's (Md.) for a Homecoming matchup at 5:00 pm.
