UNION, N.J. – The Frostburg State volleyball team wrapped up the second day of the Cougar Classic at Kean University Saturday with wins over both Centenary, 3-0, and Hunter, 3-1.
In the 3-0 shutout of Centenary, the Bobcats (3-5) posted scores of 25-9, 25-12 and 25-11. In the second match of the afternoon, Frostburg rallied from an early deficit to defeat Hunter. The Bobcats trailed 1-0 after dropping the first set 25-21. However, Frostburg posted 25-23, 25-17 and 25-19 wins over the next three sets to take the match.
Junior Aimee Petrides took home all-tournament honors after hitting .393 with 30 kills over the two matches. Freshman Madelyn Torres registered 66 assists, while freshman Lindsey Scepura finished with 22 digs. Senior Morgan Hoover posted a season-high 10 kills in the victory over Hunter.
Frostburg State hosts the FSU Tournament next weekend, starting on Friday at 4:00 pm.
