NORFOLK, Va. – Taylor Marshall scored the game-winning goal with just over a minute remaining in double overtime to send Virginia Wesleyan to a 2-1 win over Frostburg State, Saturday.

The Bobcats didn't back down and held a 16-13 lead in shots and a decisive 13-6 advantage in penalty corners. Frostburg had a string of three-consecutive shots in the 10
th minute but all were saved by VWC keeper Lindsay Baker and the game remained 1-0 at the break.
Frostburg grabbed the game's momentum in the second half, outshooting the hosts 8-3. Junior Alexandra Darrow put the Bobcats on the board and knotted the game at 1-1 when she converted on a penalty stroke in the 45
th minute.
Frostburg attempted five more shots in the second frame but couldn't break the tie as the contest headed for extra time.
In the second overtime, Virginia Wesleyan scored on the only shot attempted by either team with just 1:05 showing on the clock for the win.
Sophomore Jacqueline Gover posted four saves, while her counterpart, Lindsay Baker finished with eight.
The Bobcats return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Sweet Briar at 5:00 pm.
