FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State women's basketball team pulled away in the first half and never let up in an 85-53 triumph over non-conference opponent Mt. Aloysius, Monday night.

Following the game's sixth tie midway through the first half, the Bobcats (6-14) closed out the opening period on a 22-7 run for a 42-27 lead at the break.
The Mounties (12-9) closed to within 11 points, 55-44, with 11:41 showing in the second half, but that is as close as they would get.
Much like in the first half, the Bobcats closed out the last 10-plus minutes of the second half on a 30-9 run to win by 32. The late second-half run was keyed by junior Ronje' James who scored five-straight baskets starting at 7:25.
Frostburg finished with three players in double-figures including two starters. Junior Simone Wise poured in a game-high 25 and senior Elaina Hummel posted 12 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and two steals. James finished with a total of 12 points following her exceptional second half.
It was a total team effort as the Bobcats led in rebounding (63-55), bench scoring (32-12), points in the paint (30-12) and second-chance points (16-8). The Bobcats also turned 24 Mountie turnovers into 21 points and 18 steals.
Becky Bard led MTA with 20 points while Morgan Brosnihan added nine points. Mount Aloysius shot just 22.4 percent (17-of-76) from the floor.
The Bobcats return to action on Wednesday at Southern Virginia at 6:00 pm.
