FROSTBURG, Md. – For the second time in three seasons, Frostburg State will appear in the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament Championship. The Bobcats will host the 2014 title game on Saturday when they welcomes the University of Mary Washington to Bobcat Stadium at 2:00 pm for the right to earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Click Here How Frostburg Got Here After finishing the regular season with an 11-4-4 overall record, Frostburg earned the tournament's fourth seed and hosted fifth-seeded York last Saturday in the first round. The Bobcats dispatched the Spartans with a slim 1-0 win on a goal with just 50 seconds left in regulation. On Wednesday, FSU and top-seeded Christopher Newport played to a 1-1 draw following regulation and both overtimes. However, the Bobcats earned a spot in the championship after leaving CNU with a 4-3 edge in penalty kicks.
How Mary Washington Got HereMary Washington became the first six seed to advance to the CAC Championship since St. Mary's in 2011. The Eagles, who finished the regular season with a 12-4-2 overall mark, defeated third-seeded St. Mary's in the first round, 3-2, before downing second-seeded Salisbury, 2-1, in the semifinals.
Series HistoryFrostburg enters Saturday's title game with a 4-1-1 record in six meetings with Mary Washington. FSU has defeated UMW in four of the last five games after losing the first meeting between the schools back in 2002. The Bobcats won the regular-season meeting 3-0 on Oct. 8 in Frostburg.
Championship Game HistorySaturday's game will be the third appearance in the CAC Championship Contest for the Bobcats in five years as a member of the league. Frostburg lost to Stevenson in 2010, 1-0, but earned the conference crown in 2012 after defeating Salisbury on PK's, 4-3, after finishing both overtimes in a 0-0 tie.
What's NextThe winner of Saturday's championship will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament which starts on Friday, Nov. 14. The NCAA will broadcast its Division III selection show on Monday, Nov. 10, at 1:00 pm.
