FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State University women's soccer team wrapped up its regular season Tuesday and found out late Wednesday that it has earned the fourth seed in the upcoming 2014 CAC Tournament.
With the fourth seed, the Bobcats have also earned a first-round game at Bobcat Stadium this Saturday against fifth-seeded York (Pa.). The game time will be announced on Thursday morning.
During the regular season, the Bobcats (11-4-4) and Spartans (9-5-3) battled in a close game at Bobcat Stadium, before YCP emerged with a 1-0 win.
The second first-round matchup will have sixth-seeded Mary Washington (10-6-2) at third-seeded St. Mary's (Md.)(9-5-3).
The winner of FSU/YCP will travel to top-seeded Christopher Newport (12-3-3) on Wednesday, Nov. 5 for the semifinals, while the winner of UMW/SMCM will visit second-seeded Salisbury (10-5-3).
The CAC Championship contest is slated for Saturday, Nov. 8 at the highest remaining seed and the winner will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
