ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Frostburg State men's basketball team suffered a 97-54 loss at 21st-ranked St. Mary's in CAC action, Wednesday.
FSU kept it close for the first eight minutes, trailing just 13-9 with 11:51 to play in the first half. A quick 10-0 jolt handed the Seahawks (9-3, 4-1) a 23-9 lead and they slowly increased their advantage to 41-20 with just seconds left until halftime.
Bobcat sophomore Royce Hunsberger hit a three-pointer with one second showing on the first half clock as the visitors trailed 41-23 at the break.
St. Mary's increased its lead to 30, 62-32, with 13:03 left in regulation and later led by as many as 45 before collecting its fourth-straight win.
Junior Torrell Goodman led the Bobcats with 16 points as they fell to 0-11 overall and 0-5 in the CAC. Junior Joshua Corbett finished with seven points.
Three St. Mary's starters finished in double figures, led by 22 points from Brendan McFall. Donn Hall added 16, while Troy Spurrier had 12. The Seahawks shot 58.9 percent (33-of-56) from the floor and made 10 three-pointers.
Frostburg is back in action this Saturday when it hosts Marymount at 3:00 pm.
