Shupe & Kean Named ECAC First Team All-Stars

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - The 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III All-Stars have been announced and Frostburg State juniors Kevin Kean and Dylan Shupe were both voted to the South Region First Team, Friday.

Shupe has garnered his third postseason award after being named a Second Team All-South Region catcher and a First Team All-Capital Athletic Conference honoree. Shupe finished 47th in the nation in doubles (16) and 83rd in slugging percentage (.611). He finished the year hitting .397 (52-for-131) with 30 runs, four home runs and 38 RBI.

Kean capped a stellar first year in a Bobcat uniform by collecting his sixth postseason award after posting some of the top offensive numbers in the country. Kean is seventh in FSU single-season history in hits (60) and triples (5).

Kean led the Bobcats in eight statistical categories, including batting average (.423), slugging percentage (.662), runs (44), hits (60), triples (5), total bases (94), walks (21) and stolen bases (14). He led the CAC in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage (.506) and tied for the league lead in triples. He was voted as the CAC's Player of the Year.

The outfielder from Millersville, Md., finished the year ranked 23rd in the nation in batting average, 25th in on-base percentage, 33rd in slugging percentage, 34th in triples and 57th in runs per game.
