Kean Selected As D3Baseball.com All-American

FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg State University junior outfielder Kevin Kean has been selected as a D3baseball.com Third Team All-American, as announced by the website earlier this week.

Kean is FSU’s third D3baseball.com All-American in the last four years and first since Greg Ross was named a second-team selection in 2011.

The 2013 Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year, Kean proved to be one of the top hitters in all of NCAA Division III. He finished 24th in the nation in batting average (.423), 27th in on-base percentage (.506), 32nd in slugging percentage (.662), 34th in triples (5), 50th in doubles (16), 56th in runs per game (1.13) and 59th in total bases (94.0).

In 39 starts, Kean reached first base in all but one game and posted a 24-game hitting streak over the middle part of the season. He led the Bobcats with 14 stolen bases and finished seventh in FSU single-season history in both hits (60) and triples.

A Millersville, Md. native, Kean was named to both the All-CAC First Team and D3baseball.com All-South Region First Team. He is the second CAC Player of the Year for the Bobcats in the last three years.

Frostburg State finished the 2013 season with a 25-15 overall record and advanced to the CAC Tournament for the third-straight season.
