FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State volleyball team learned Saturday afternoon that it grabbed the sixth and final seed in the upcoming 2013 Capital Athletic Conference Tournament.
The Bobcats (7-26) will travel to third-seeded Mary Washington (16-11) on Tuesday evening for the tournament's first round at 7:00 pm. The Eagles captured a 3-0 win over the Bobcats during the regular-season meeting on Nov. 9.
In the other first round contest, fifth-seeded St. Mary's (18-9) will travel to fourth-seeded Marymount (18-13) on Tuesday. The Saints earned a 3-2 win over the Seahawks on Oct. 30 in Arlington.
Top-seeded Christopher Newport (22-12) and second-seeded Salisbury (28-4) earned first round byes and will host the winners of Tuesday's first round matchups on Thursday in the semifinals. CNU will host the winner of SMC/MU, while the Sea Gulls will host the winner of FSU/UMW.
The tournament championship is slated for Saturday, Nov. 9 at the highest remaining seed, while the winner will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
