FROSTBURG, Md. – Four players for the Frostburg State basketball team scored in double-figures as the team earned an 86-66 victory over visiting Pitt-Greensburg, Saturday.

FSU (1-3) poured in a season-high 86 points to grab its first victory of the season. The four Frostburg players in double-digits accounted for 62 of the team's 86 points and the hosts shot a season-best 46.5% (33-of-71) from the field.
Three of five FSU starters finished in double-figures led by junior Simone Wise with a game-high 20 points. Senior Elaina Hummel finished with 18 points, six assists and six rebounds, while sophomore Courtney Young was the third and final starter in double-figures with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Junior starter Jasmine Walker seized a game-high 15 rebounds including 10 on the defensive end and classmate Ronje' James sparked the FSU bench with 14 points.
Frostburg held a commanding lead throughout the game, propelled with a 12-2 run in the first five minutes of the game. The visitors brought the game within eight at 12:21, but Wise kick-started a scoring run by hitting two-straight outside shots to put the game at 18-6.
Junior Kyler Redmond involved herself in the scoring, grabbing 1-of-2 free throws at 9:56. Wise continued her 10-point first half, with a layup to secure a 15-point lead at 9:47.
Pitt-Greensburg (1-3) brought the game within nine with 4:05 showing on the clock but FSU maintained their double-digit lead through the rest of the first half.
The second half rang the same tune, however, Pitt-Greensburg tried to close the gap twice in the second half. They got as close as six on three separate occasions, the latest occurring at 11:46. From the 11
th minute on, FSU grew its commanding lead of 20 points, to post the final score at 86-66.
FSU held an edge in points off turnovers (18-11) and second chance points (21-17). Frostburg also held an advantage with the inside game, outscoring Pitt-Greensburg 42-30 in the paint and out-rebounding the visitors 54-39.
The Bobcats are back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 26 as they host Penn State Altoona at 6:00 pm.
