FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State volleyball team posted a 1-1 record on the final day of the regular season, but picked up a 3-0 shutout victory over Hollins in the third match of the afternoon at Bobcat Arena, Saturday.

FSU (7-26, 3-5 CAC) suffered a 3-0 shutout loss to St. Mary's (18-9, 3-5 CAC) in the first match of the day by scores of 25-12, 25-21 and 25-12. The loss caused a three-way tie for fifth place in the regular-season standings and the CAC league office needed a coin flip to determine the last two teams that would make the league tournament.
Following the flip, the CAC office announced that St. Mary's earned the fifth seed, while Frostburg had been selected as the sixth seed. A full tournament preview will be available on Monday.
In the third match, FSU closed its regular season and hosted senior day before defeating Hollins 3-0. The Bobcats hit .240 in the three-game set and collected wins of 25-20, 25-13 and 25-22.
Sophomore Caitlyn Collins handed out 48 assists in the two matches and registered 15 digs. Sophomore Aimee Petrides posted 15 kills and 19 digs, while senior April Wolfe had 12 kills and 24 digs.
In the win over Hollins, senior Brianna Teets hit .400 with six kills, four digs and three blocks, while senior Jamie Frank recorded nine digs. Wolfe posted a team-best 14 digs.
With its sixth seed in the CAC Tournament, Frostburg State will travel to third-seeded Mary Washington on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7:00 pm.
