Football Falls To Salisbury In 15th Annual Regents Cup

SALISBURY, Md. – The Frostburg State football team closed out the 2013 season with a 70-14 loss to Salisbury in the 15th Annual Regents Cup Game, Friday night.

The Bobcats (1-9, 0-7) hung tough and battled with their in-state rivals to a 21-14 deficit late in the second quarter. Junior running back Mike Fourth scored a five-yard touchdown early in the first and sophomore wideout Haydan Roberts hauled in a 23-yard score late in the second quarter as FSU drew within a touchdown at 21-14 with 4:35 left in the first half.

However, Salisbury (6-4, 5-2) scored the next seven touchdowns and blew the contest wide open. Quarterback John Dunbar ran for four first-half touchdowns to power the Sea Gulls to a 35-14 halftime lead. Nick Aloi added a pair of rushing touchdowns in the second half as Salisbury won for the 10th-straight meeting.

Fourth finished with 54 yards on 11 carries and a score, while Roberts hauled in six passes for 51 yards and one touchdown. Junior Ken Emmons completed five passes for 66 yards and the 23-yard scoring pass to Roberts.

Freshman William Sewell powered the Bobcat defense with 11 total tackles and two forced fumbles. Senior Gilbert Kim and sophomore Marcus Moody each finished with nine stops.

Dunbar led the SU ground attack with 109 yards on 24 rushes with four scores. He also completed 2-of-3 passes for 36 yards and another touchdown.
