Mead and Columbus Pace Cross Country at Gettysburg

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Frostburg State men's and women's cross country teams each competed at the Gettysburg College Invitational, Saturday.

The men finished in 13th place out of 26 teams with a total point score of 411, while the women finished 23rd out of 27 teams with 657 points.

On the men's side, senior Patrick Mead was the first to cross the finish line in the 8k course as he finished in 28th place with a time of 26:54.6.

Following Mead was freshman Brandon Redmond, who finished 98th overall (28:17.1). Sophomore Daniil Repchenko and freshman Stanton Higham were the third and fourth runners to finish for the Bobcats. Repchenko finished 127th with a time of 28:49.6 and Higham finished 132nd with a time of 28:58.0. Closing out the scoring for the men was freshman Jeffrey Frost who finished 149th and crossed the finish line in 29:29.8.

For the women, freshman Casey Columbus finished in 115th place with a time of 26:18.7 and was the first Bobcat to finish the 6k course.

She was followed by senior Bryn Allston who finished 157th with a time of 27:15.4, and freshman Lexi Foreman who finished in 208th place (28:55.6).

The fourth woman to finish for FSU was freshman Valarie Proctor, as she finished 238th with a time of 30:38.7. Freshman Margaret McConnell closed out the scoring for Frostburg with her 244th place finish (31:07.9).

The Bobcats will return to the course Nov. 2 when they travel to Salisbury to compete in the Capital Athletic Conference Championships at 11:00 am.
