HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Frostburg State volleyball team rallied for a 3-1 CAC victory over Penn State Harrisburg, Wednesday.
The Bobcats improve to 4-22 overall and 1-3 in league play with the come-from-behind win.
FSU struggled in the early going, dropping the first set 25-12. The visitors had just three kills in the opening game.
However, Frostburg rebounded with three-straight wins to take the match. The Bobcats hit .241 and smacked 12 kills in the second game for a 25-17 win that knotted the match at 1-1. In the third set, FSU posted a match-high 14 kills to grab a 25-20 win and a 2-1 edge.
FSU closed out the match behind 12 kills in the fourth set for a 25-16 win.
As a team, Frostburg recorded 10 blocks, 57 digs and 41 kills.
Individually, senior April Wolfe and sophomores Aimee Petrides and Caitlyn Collins all posted double-doubles. Petrides led the team with 17 kills, including 10 digs, while Collins handed out 30 assists and 11 digs. Wolfe was second on the team with 13 kills, but registered a team-high 13 digs. Sophomore Brianna Teets was responsible for 10 blocks.
Frostburg returns to action this Saturday when it hosts Wesley and John Carroll.
