FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg State turned a 25-point second-half deficit into just seven points, but the rally ended as the final horn sounded and 13th ranked St. Mary’s captured a 96-89 win in CAC action, Saturday.

FSU (5-9, 1-2 CAC) shot 48.3 percent from the floor and tied a season-best scoring mark of 83 points. However, St. Mary’s (13-1, 3-0) shot 55.7 percent from the field and had four starters in double figures as it captured its 13-consecutive win.
The Seahawks drilled nine three-pointers in the opening half and overcame 14 Bobcat free throws for a 50-39 advantage at the half.
Senior DeSean Antoine drilled back-to-back three-pointers at 11:19 and 10:57 as Frostburg appeared poised to make a run at the Seahawk lead. The quick 6-0 spurt from Antoine pulled FSU to 64-54.
St. Mary’s instead rebounded with a 19-4 scoring run as it captured a game-high 25-point cushion (83-58) with just 5:08 remaining.
Frostburg answered with a 20-4 scoring run of its own as it closed the gap to single digits, 87-78, with just 1:16 to play. Senior Christian Jackson hit a layup with two seconds left as FSU pulled the final score to seven points, 96-89.
Jackson and Antoine tied with a game and team-high 26 points each. Jackson added his second-straight double-double with a game-high 13 rebounds. Antoine poured in 21 points in the second half and was key in both Bobcat rallies. He tied a game and season-high with four three-pointers.
Devin Spencer matched the Bobcat scoring tandem with 26 points of his own, including four three-pointers. Brendan McCall added 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting (66.6%). Nick LaGuerre posted a double-double with 10 points and 11 assists.
Frostburg State hosts Wesley this Wednesday at Bobcat Arena at 6:00 pm.
