WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Frostburg State University men’s cross country team traveled to the Waynesburg Invitational for the second meet of the season on Saturday.

The Bobcats as a team captured seventh place out of 10 teams with a combined team score of 161.

Senior Gavin Caupp led the way with a top-10 finish as he crossed the line in eighth place at 27:34.4. The top 15 runners earned post-race awards and it is his first top-10 finish since the 2009 season.

Junior Patrick Mead also turned in a strong performance as he finished 17th in 28:25.0.

Freshman Josh Biser, sophomore Jon Stewart and freshman Daniel Repchenko rounded out the top five for the Bobcats. Biser was 41st (30:27.7), Stewart earned 46th (31:31.2) and Repchenko crossed in 49th (32:24.2).

In two weeks, the Bobcats host the Frostburg State University Invitational at Maplehurst Country Club in Frostburg, Md.
