FSU (3-18) dropped its opening match of the day to Cairn by set scores of 18-25, 10-25, 25-21, 20-25.

After dropping the first two sets to the Highlanders, the Bobcats took an early 10-8 lead behind a kill from junior Victoria Veirs. The Bobcats would not trail for the rest of the set, but the Highlanders were able to tie the game one last time at 14-14. FSU then scored twice to retake the lead and finished out the set on a service ace from Caitlyn Droz to force a fourth set.

The Bobcats built a 15-13 lead in the fourth set, but Cairn was able to chip away and eventually take the lead back at 19-18 and went on to win the decisive set, 25-20.

Frostburg wrapped up the tri-match with host Neuamann and fell in four sets by scores of 19-25, 17-25, 26-24, 19-25.

As they did in the opening match, the Bobcats fell behind in the first two sets but were able to force at least a fourth game with a third-set victory.
The Bobcats trailed 24-18 in the third set and behind the serving of sophomore Andrea Armstrong rattled off eight unanswered points to take the third set, 26-24. The scoring run began with a block from sophomore Morgan Hoover and freshman Aimee Petrides and was highlighted by a kill from Hoover and two more from Petrides.

The momentum carried into the beginning of the fourth set for the Bobcats as they went point-for-point with the Knights for a 11-10 score, the Knights leading. FSU was unable to carry the momentum forward, however, and fell to Neumann, 25-19 in the final set to close out the match.

Sophomore Maddie White led the Bobcats with 29 kills on the afternoon while chipping in 42 digs, including a season-high 27 digs against Cairn. Sophomore setter Kass Greis handed out 60 assists between the two matches and Armstrong hit double-digits digs in both matches with 23 against Cairn and 14 more against Neumann.

The Bobcats return to the court when they travel to Dover, Del. to face Wesley in a Capital Athletic Conference showdown beginning at 1:00 pm on Sept. 30.
