The victory puts the Bobcats back on the winning track after suffering their second loss of the season last week.

FSU (7-2-1, 1-0-1) scored first in the 13th minute. Sophomore Stephanie Fazenbaker was fouled in the 18-yard box and was awarded a penalty kick. Unfortunately, her attempt was turned away by St. Mary’s keeper Kelsey Wirtz.

However, the ball was batted back into the field of play where a hard charging Courtney Mack knocked home the loose ball for a 1-0 lead.

Despite 11 shot attempts from Frostburg in the first half and four from the Seahawks (4-4-1, 1-1-1), the game remained 1-0 at the half.

Just over nine minutes into the second stanza, St. Mary’s tied the contest when Liz Mosher scored on a crossed ball.

The game remained at a 1-1 deadlock until back-to-back Graham goals handed FSU a 3-1 cushion. Freshman Erin Worthman found Graham for the 2-1 lead at 80:28. Five minutes later, Graham dribbled through the defense and connected on a shot in the left side of the net for a 3-1 edge.

The Seahawks’ Jess Konecke brought the scoring to a close with a goal with just one minute left in the second half.

Frostburg attempted 11 shots in each half and finished with a 22-8 advantage. Wirtz kept the hosts from blowing the score wide open as she made nine saves for St. Mary’s, including five in the second half.

Bobcat sophomore keeper Katie Smith stopped two shots in the win.

Frostburg will host future CAC opponent Southern Virginia this Wednesday at 5:00 pm.
