HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Frostburg State University volleyball team fell to Haverford and Juniata on the second day of the 2012 Haverford Invitational, Sunday afternoon.
The Bobcats (0-4) lost in straight sets to the host Fords, 25-16, 25-19, 25-20 in the first match of the day.
Freshman Caitlyn Droz led the team in hitting in the opening match with seven kills while sophmore Andrea Armstrong had four. Sophomore Maddie White led the team with 10 digs and Droz chipped in eight for FSU.
Senior Chelsea McClosky and sophomore Kass Greis each handed out eight assists in the match.
Frostburg lost to Juniata in three sets, 25-11, 25-17, 25-11, later in the day to wrap up the two-day tournament.
White, Armstrong, Droz and freshman Aimee Petrides each collected three kills for the Bobcats against No. 10 ranked Juniata while White chipped in eight digs as well.
The Bobcats return to the court next Friday, Sept. 7 when they travel to Hiram, Oh. to take on Hiram at 3:00 pm.
