FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State volleyball team wrapped up its Capital Athletic Conference regular season schedule with a 3-0 loss to St. Mary's (Md.) inside Bobcat Arena, Tuesday evening.

The Bobcats (5-25) fell to the Seahawks is three-straight sets by scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-23.
St. Mary's jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the first set behind the serving of Dani Thorne and the Bobcats could not catch up. FSU used two different four-point runs in the opening set to keep the game close, but the Seahawks held their lead and took the set, 25-20.
The Seahawks used a four-point run in the beginning of the second set to take a 7-2 lead, one which they would not surrender. A service ace from sophomore Maddie White pulled the Bobcats to within five, 21-16, but FSU could not find its rthym and St. Mary's held on to win, 25-17.
After two four-point runs by the Seahawks opened the third set, the Bobcats found their groove and used a six-point spurt to take their first lead of the set, 12-11. After a Seahawk hitting error gave the ball back to the Bobcats, FSU rattled off three more points to take a 16-13 lead. The Seahawks kept it close, however, and would battle back behind a seven-point run to take the lead, 22-18. FSU pulled to within one at 24-23, but SMCM finsihed off the third and final set with a kill from Bianca Livioco.
White led the Bobcat attack with eight kills while chipping in nine digs on defense. Sophomore Andrea Armstrong lead the team with 14 digs in the match while senior Chelsea McCloskey handed out a match-high 19 assists. Sophomore Brianna Teets had a match-high five blocks.
The Bobcats return to the court on Thursday, Oct. 25 when they travel to Winchester, Va. to take on Shenandoah at 7:00 pm.
