LEWISBURG, Pa. – Junior Jesse Henderson ran a personal best in the 5,000-meter run to highlight the Frostburg State track & field efforts on the first day of the 14th Annual Bison Open at Bucknell University, Friday night.

Henderson posted a ninth place finish in 16:32.14. His previous personal best was a 16:33.42 set at Bucknell last January.
Senior Gavin Caupp finished just behind Henderson in the 5,000. Caupp crossed the line in 10th place in 16:36.82.
In the sprints, the Bobcats had four athletes compete in the 200-meter dash preliminaries. On the women’s side, senior Amy Brennan took second in the first heat with a time of 27.86. Junior Chauncey Manson ran the fastest time of the three men participants. Manson posted a 23.12, good for second in the sixth heat. Senior Markese Hayden was second in the fourth heat (24.15), while classmate Patrick Pinchinat captured first in the 12th heat (23.51).
Unfortunately, none of the four 200-meter runners qualified for the finals on Saturday.
The Bobcats return to action for the second day of the Bison Open on Saturday morning at 9:30 am. The meet will open with the long jump, triple jump, weight throw and shot put.
