FROSTBURG, Md. - Sophomore forward Adria Graham scored twice to push the Frostburg State women's soccer team to a 3-1 win over Washington & Jefferson on Wednesday night at Bobcat Stadium. The win keeps the Bobcats perfect at 3-0 on the season.
Box Score
Graham had plenty of help in netting the goals, getting beautiful assists on each. She opened the scoring in the 36th minute thanks to a neat play by exciting freshman Stephanie Fazenbaker. She corralled an errant ball on the goal line to the right of the net and flicked a perfect pass to Graham who headed it in off the crossbar.
The score went into the half at 1-0, but it could have favored the Presidents without the stellar play of senior goalkeeper Michelle Buckmaster. The Presidents launched a couple of missiles her way, but she fought them off from point-blank range. Washington & Jefferson threw its best at the Bobcats in the first two-thirds of this match, but only a single goal from Dawn Murphy in the 55th minute caused any damage, tying the score at 1-1.
Frostburg quickly responded in the 58th minute after senior Cassie Donahue lofted a ball to the right side over a defender to Graham who slammed it home for her fourth career multi-goal game.
Sophomore Chelsea Paskowski added an insurance goal in the 86th minute. The win is Buckmaster's 30th for her career.
The Bobcats return to action Friday evening when they host Penn State Altoona at 7:00 p.m.
