Tapman Named To 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Atlantic All-Region Team

STARVILLE, Miss. - After yet another record breaking season, Frostburg State University junior Brooke Tapman (Pocomoke, Md./Pocomoke) was named to 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Atlantic All-Region Third Team, late last week.

Tapman, the 2010 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Year, helped FSU to its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance and a school record 30 wins (30-16). She led the team in nine offensive categories, including batting average (.420), runs (41), total bases (99), hits (58) and homeruns (9). She led both FSU and the AMCC in steals (22).

Tapman tied her own school record for hits in a season (58) and set FSU career records for runs (112), RBIs (118), total bases (289) and stolen bases (43) at different points throughout the season.

Salisbury University and Emory University led the way with five all-region selections each with the Sea Gulls placing three on the first team. Tapman is the lone player from the AMCC selected to the all-region teams while FSU's future conference, the Capital Athletic Conference, totaled nine selections.

The all-region selection is the second for Tapman as she was named to the NFCA All-Region First Team following the last season.
