GREENSBURG, Pa. - Juniors
Brooke Tapman (Pocomoke, Md./Pocomoke) and
Jacki Lynch (Glen Burnie, Md./North County) combined for 10 of Frostburg's 23 hits in a doubleheader sweep of Pitt-Greensburg in AMCC softball action, Wednesday. FSU earned a 5-2 victory in game one and exploded for a 10-1 win in the nightcap.

Frostburg State evened its record to 10-10 overall and improved to 5-1 in the conference. FSU has totaled 46 runs in its five conference wins this season.
Frostburg jumped out to a 5-0 lead in game one and limited Pitt-Greensburg (4-8, 4-4) to just two runs in the sixth. Lynch scored the first run in the first inning on a error by the UPG infield. Two innings later, junior
Victoria Krichbaum (Olney, Md./Sherwood) singled home Tapman for the game's second run and a 2-0 lead.
Lynch kick started a three-run third inning for FSU when she singled home sophomore
Jenna Delaney (Frostburg, Md./Mountain Ridge) for a 3-0 edge. Senior
Lindsay Freitag (Baltimore, Md./Parkville), the reigning AMCC and ECAC South Player of the Week, singled home both Lynch and senior
Samantha Quirin (Lovettsville, Va./Loudoun Valley) for a 5-0 lead.
With two outs in the sixth, Pitt-Greensburg scored two runs to narrow the margin to 5-2, but FSU starter
Megan Magee (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Holy Spirit) struckout the final batter and recorded two more strikeouts in the seventh for the win. Magee finished with 10 strikeouts and limited the hosts to just six hits in 7.0 innings.
In game two, FSU tallied eight runs in the final three innings for the win. After a slow start in the first two innings by both teams, FSU came alive with two runs in the third.
Just like in game one, Lynch started the scoring in the contest when she crossed the plate on an error by the UPG outfield. Krichbaum followed with an RBI single to center that scored Tapman for a 2-0 lead.
In the fifth, Tapman singled to second and later stole second to move into scoring position, before crossing the plate on a sophomore
Lauren Scrivener (Baltimore, Md./Eastern Tech) double to left.
Tapman drove home Lynch and Quirin with a two-run double in the sixth for a 5-0 edge. Tapman then drove home three more runs with a triple to right center in the seventh. Both Delaney and Lynch each had RBIs in the final inning as FSU surged out to a 10-0 lead. Greensburg plated a single run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to avoid the shutout.
Junior
Megan Henne (Pasadena, Md./Northeast) earned her third-straight victory and evened her record to 4-4 after limiting UPG to one earned run on nine hits.
Tapman finished the afternoon 6-of-10 with six RBIs and three runs while Lynch combined for a 4-of-8 effort with five runs scored and two RBIs.
The Bobcats host Hilbert this Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm at Bobcat Field.
