STEUBENVILLE, Ohio - The Frostburg State men's tennis team defeated Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Opponent Franciscan, 6-3, Tuesday afternoon.

Sophomore Michael Stevenson (Bowie, Md./Bowie) and junior Ramon Gutierrez (Gilbert, Ariz./West Ferris Secondary School) picked up the No. 1 doubles win against Andrew Straub and Nick Cundiff (8-2) while freshmen Christian Ernst (Clear Spring, Md./Clear Spring) and Zach Repp (Clear Spring, Md./Clear Spring) defeated Clark Thompson and Joey Alvarez in the number three doubles competition (8-1).

In the No. 1 singles match, Stevenson won against Cooper (6-3, 6-2) and sophomore Eddie McMurtrie (Boonsboro, Md./Boonsboro) defeated Cundiff in the third singles competition with scores of 6-4, 5-7, 6-4.

Junior Josh Galvez (Adelphi, Md./Montgomery Blair) picked up the win in the number five singles match, when he won against Mathisen (6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (2)). In the No. 6 singles competition, sophomore Paul Rooke (North East, Md./North East) defeated Clark Thompson with scores of 6-1, 6-2.
