Men's Tennis Picks Up Its Fifth Conference Win of the Season Against Pitt-Bradford 6-3

FROSTBURG, Md. - Three players picked up two wins as the Frostburg State men's tennis team defeated Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent PItt-Bradford, 6-3 for its fifth conference win of the season, Saturday afternoon.

Junior Ramon Gutierrez (Gilbert Ariz./West Ferris Secondary School) along with sophomores Michael Stevenson (Bowie, Md./Bowie) and Eddie McMurtrie (Boonsboro, Md./Boonsboro) all posted two wins on the day for the Bobcats (7-4, 5-2).

In the number one doubles competition, Stevenson and Gutierrez defeated Ryan Myer and Mike Teresi (8-3) while McMurtrie teamed up with sophomore Tyler Forster (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) to pick up a win against Brian Ocampo and Calvin McAlee in the No. 2 doubles match (8-2).

In the first singles competition, Stevenson won against Ocampa with scores of 6-1, 6-1 and Gutierrez posted his second win of the day in the No. 2 singles match when he defeated McAlee (6-3, 6-3).

McMurtrie won the number three singles competition against Teresi with scores of 6-3, 6-3 while sophomore Christian Ernst (Clear Spring, Md./Clear Spring) had his first win of the day when he defeated Myer in the fourth singles match (6-3, 6-4).

FSU is back on the court against AMCC opponent Penn State Behrend, tomorrow April 11 at home at 1:00 pm.
