FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg women’s basketball senior forward
Brittany James (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill) was selected to the D3Hoops.com Women’s All-Atlantic Region Third Team, Tuesday.
James, one of 15 players selected to the three all-region teams, was a standout performer for the Bobcats, helping the team to the AMCC Tournament semifinals and a 19-8 overall record.
James, a First Team All-AMCC selection this season, started 26 games and posted a career-high 13 doubles-doubles. She led the AMCC in offensive rebounds (5.0) and was fourth in total rebounds (10.7).
She finished fifth in the league in scoring (15.5) and became the 15th player in women’s basketball history to score over a 1,000 career points.
Gallaudet center Easter Faafiti was named the region’s Player of the Year after guiding the Bison to a 14-12 overall record. Faafiti, the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year led the league in scoring (19.1 points per game) and rebounding (11.1 rpg).
Marymount’s Bill Finney was named the Coach of the Year after leading the Saints to a 28-2 record and trip to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. SUNY-Old Westbury’s Krystina Agard was honored with the region’s Rookie of the Year award after finishing sixth nationally in points per game and 18th in steals per game.
