Brittany James (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill) reached over 1,000 career points at Frostburg State as the women's basketball team defeated Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent, Hilbert, 78-37 on Saturday afternoon. Saturday also marked senior day for James and
Caryn Wright (Baltimore, Md./Western Tech) while the basketball team hosted the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s (WBCA) “Pink Zone” event.

The Bobcats (17-7, 14-5) were able to hold of the Hawks (0-25, 0-20) defensively, not allowing them to score a basketbal in the first six minutes of play. FSU continued to dominate in the first half taking a 47-12 lead into the locker room.
James opened the scoring in the second half for the Bobcats with two good free throws, 49-16. The two made free throws were points 999 and 1,000 for the senior forward. Freshman
Elizabeth Erickson (Bellwood, Pa./Bellwood Antis) ended the game hitting a jumper at the buzzer to give the win to the Bobcats, 78-37.
James led all scorers with 18 points and pulled down 15 boards while Wright followed closely behind with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Mary Zinni led Hilbert scoring wtih 13 points and Julie Bossard led rebounders for the Hawks, pulling down seven boards.
James is Frostburg State's 15th 1,000 point scorer and 10th under the direction of head coach Jody Pepple.
Frostburg State is back in action on Sunday, February 21 against AMCC opponent D'Youville at 12:00 pm for its 'Hoops for Haiti' event.
