WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Frostburg State University field hockey team surrendered four second half goals in a 6-0 defeat to Washington & Jefferson, Wednesday in its season finale.

The Bobcats finish the season 3-17 overall while the Presidents improve to 13-3.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Maggie Edwards (Lebanon, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) made 26 saves, just four off her career-high set earlier this season. It also marks the third time this season that Edwards has made 20 or more saves in a single-game.
Despite 16 shots in the first half, the Bobcat defense limited W&J to just two goals from Jennifer Marabella (1:21) and Kim Marcius (6:19).
Washington & Jefferson notched four goals, including two in a span of less than a minute, in the second half to collect a 6-0 lead with just over four minutes left in the game. Marabella scored her second of the game at 58:10 and then assisted Amanda Pflumm at 59:03. Erin Barno started the scoring in the second with a goal at 42:22 and Kolbey Seidel scored the game's final goal at 65:58.

Breanne Russell (Clements, Md./Chopticon) fired two shots for the Bobcats offensively, while classmates
Brooke Tapman (Pocomoke, Md./Pocomoke) and
Lindsey Frost (Columbia, Md./Hammond) each had one attempt.
Sophomore
Erin Johns (Halethorpe, Md./Lansdowne) and freshmen
Tori Suess (Milton, Del./Sussex Technical) and
Tiffany Weschler (Olney, Md./Sherwood) stopped the Presidents from adding to their goal total with a defensive save each.
