SELINSGROVE, Pa.- Junior
Emily Furr (Damascus, Md./Poolesville) captured two first-place finishes as the Frostburg State men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Susquehanna University Orange and Maroon Classic, Saturday.
Results
Furr captured first-place in the high jump (1.57 meters) and triple jump (10.81), qualifying for the ECAC Championships in the triple jump. She also placed sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.98.
Joining Furr in the field events were senior
Kayla Peters (Dunkirk, Md./Northern) and junior
Artemis Constantinou (Potomac, Md./Richard Montgomery). Peters finished in sixth place in the shot put (10.24 meters) while Constantinou placed eighth in the weight throw with a mark of 11.57 meters. Peters also captured tenth in the women's weight throw (9.95 meters).
In the men's 200-meter dash, sophomore
David Thomas finished in second place with a time of 6.70 while classmate
Chauncey Manson placed sixth (6.80). Mason also took home third-place in the 200-meter dash (23.31).
Junior
Anne Patron (Baltimore, Md./Dulany) placed fifth in the women's one mile run with a time of 5:33.53.
The FSU men's 4x200 relay captured third place with a time of 1:35.55 while the men's 4x400 relay placed fourth (3:36.70). The men's distance relay finished in eighth place with a time of 11:19.33.
The Bobcats return to action on January 27 at 3:00 pm at the Ursinus College Pentathlon in Collegville, Pa.
