GIBSONIA, Pa. - Frostburg State freshman
Elly Dannenfelser (Joppa, Md./John Carroll) brought home AMCC Player of the Week honors for the second time this season, Monday.
Dannenfelser helped the Bobcats (10-2, 7-0) to a 3-0 record this week, sweeping AMCC opponents D'Youville and Pitt-Bradford.
Against Penn State Altoona, Dannenfelser and freshman
Megan Martin (Richmond, Va./Mills Goodwin) defeated Melissa Barba and Ashley Eisenbeis in the number one doubles (8-4). In the number one singles competition, she won against Barba with scores of 6-3, 7-5.
Dannenfelser and Martin picked up a win against Pitt-Bradford's Renee Total and Sarah Fowkes in the No. 1 doubles competition (8-0). Dannenfelser defeated Fowkes in the number one singles match (6-0, 6-0) for two wins on the day.
Dannenfelser also had two wins against D'Youville, picking up victories in both the number one doubles and singles competitions. She won against Melissa Kanalley (6-0, 6-0) in the singles competition and with partner Martin defeated Kanalley and Ellen Remillard (8-4).
Frostburg State is back on the court against AMCC opponent La Roche tomorrow, September 29th at 4:00 pm.
