FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State women's tennis team defeated Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Penn State Altoona, 8-1, and remained undefeated in conference play, Tuesday.

The Bobcats have an overall record of 6-2 and a conference record of 3-0.

Senior Caroline Shedd (Middletown, Md./Middletown), junior Vicky Stafford (Lee, N.H./Oyster River) and freshmen Elly Dannenfelser (Joppa, Md./John Carroll) and Megan Martin (Richmond, Va./Mills Goodwin) each picked up two victories on the day for Frostburg State.

In the number one doubles competition, Dannenfelser and Martin defeated Michelle Harrison and Emily Knott with a score of 8-2. Stafford and Shedd won against Ashley Bosco and Lindsay Kromel in the No. 2 doubles match (8-2).

Dannenfesler defeated Knott in the number one singles match for her second victory (6-0, 6-0) and Stafford won against Harrison in the second singles competition (6-1, 6-0). Shedd picked up her second win of the day in the No. three singles match when she defeated Eisenbeis with a score of 6-1, 6-3.

In the fourth singles competition, Martin won against Kromel (6-0, 6-1) while senior Liz Coblentz (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) defeated Bosco with scores of 6-1, 6-0 in the number five singles match.

Sophomore Jannill Sites (Waynesboro, Pa./James Buchanan) defeated Rice (6-0, 6-1) for the Bobcats final win of the day.
